Opera Houses in several Fulton County communities provided venues for a variety of entertainment. Few have survived, and only the restored Ellisville Opera House continues to function as originally intended. This is the home of the Spoon River Rascals Theater Troupe, a group of local children who perform beloved stories such as Charlotte’s Web, and Tom Sawyer. Performances are scheduled during the Scenic Drive Fall Festival and other times during the year.
